Spring Lacrosse registration is open ! Please register at
http://register.shootingirishlacrosse.net or click the SPRING REGISTRATION link above and to the left. We have separate deadlines for both boys and girls early bird discounts.
Boys: January 15th deadline - Registrations that are not fully paid before this date willincur a $20 late fee. Special note to boys U13- We are very close to fielding 2 teams. There will be two U13 registration events on the website. It does not matter which one you register on as more than likely, we will have to hold tryouts for A and B division teams (new this year) in the YCLA.
Girls: January 1 deadline - Registrations that are not fully paid before this date will incur a $20 late fee. Due to explosive growth of girls lacrosse teams in the YGL, we need to provide a commitment of how many teams we will be fielding for the 2012 Spring Season. We apologize for the shorter deadline, but must move this date up to meet their deadline. We are very close to fielding a 2nd middle school team and interest has never been higher. Same as boys, it does not matter which middle school team you register on.
Pocket Strings: We are gauging interest for an instructional only team (no games) to learn the basics. Eligible are Grade 1&2 Girls and 5&6 year old Boys. Parents will be required to assist on the field with their child. If you know someone that attends a private/parochial school who may be interested, please refer them to

Fund Raising: Our main fund raiser this year is the pretzel sandwich sale. This was a very successful secondary fundraising event that we had last year in our for our club to break even. For those of you who do not have the time, there is a $25 per player buyout option that is part of the registration. For those of you who do not mind selling or enjoy the pretzel sandwiches for their family, please give us your full support with meeting or exceeding a 10 sandwich sale minimum per player. We will have prizes for the top sales person of each team.
Volunteering. I cannot stress enough the importance of volunteering for the club. We have lost a few parents that have moved on past U15 that were a tremendous help to the club in organizing and working events. This year, we will lose a few more thru the same attrition. We need parent volunteers to help getting events organized such as the end of the season picnic and the pancake breakfast. Last year it was a group of 10-12 parents hard work that saved each of us approximately $25-$30 on our registration fees. The more that volunteer, the easier it is for everyone. Part of the registration process lincludes a field that you can let us know if your available for volunteering and what areas/events.
